Taking a Nature Poem for a Walk
May 20 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm BST
£5.00Please join Johannah Barrett, poet and a qualified Clerkenwell and Islington Guide and member of CIGA, for a creative walk through the local urban and green spaces around Mildmay.
Starting in King Henry’s Walk Garden, Johannah will guide you on a walk around local green spaces in the company of ‘A London Plane Tree’, a poem written in 1889 by Amy Levy. As we pause at each space, we will be able to enjoy, discuss and reflect upon the poem and its message about the experience of nature in London.
We will also be able to learn more about Amy Levy, whose ashes are interred in a local Jewish burial ground, itself now a Grade II listed site of historical significance as well being rich in biodiversity.
